COSCO and OOCL have launched a new Southeast Asia-US East Coast service via Mundra in India. The service is marketed by COSCO as the Asia-US East Coast Express Service South (AWES) and by OOCL as the India-Southeast Asia East Coast (ISE). The AWES/ISE calls at Singapore, Laem Chabang, Cai Mep, Mundra, Suez Canal, New York, Norfolk, Boston, Suez Canal, Singapore using 10 ships of 3,500-4,250 teu starting from 6 January 2023 at Cai Mep with the 3,534 teu GOTTFRIED SCHULTE.
ONE will take slots on the Far East-USWC leg of CMA CGM's Columbus JAX service connecting Port Klang, Laem Chabang, Cai Mep, Yantian, Los Angeles, Oakland, Yantian, Cai Mep, Singapore, Port Klang from 15 February 2023. CMA CGM has updated its FE-ECNA Cheasapeake Bay Express (CBX) service with the addition of calls at Singapore, Laem Chabang and Haiphong. OCEAN Alliance partners also slots on this service, branding it as the CBX (Evergreen), AWE7 (COSCO) and ECC3 (OOCL). The revised rotation calls at Singapore, Laem Chabang, Haiphong, Yantian, Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Panama (Canal), Norfolk, Savannah, Charleston, Miami, Suez(Canal), Singapore. Wan Hai has revised the rotation of its Asia America IV (AA5) transpacific service with the call at Taipei dropped while a new call at Seattle is added. The revised rotation started from November 2022 and calls at Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Long Beach, Seattle, Qingdao. The service will turn in 6 weeks but it being downgraded with just 2 ships of 3,013 teu deployed in January and February 2023, with 4 blanked sailings on each 6 week cycle.
CMA CGM has revised the rotation of its Eagle Express X (EXX) service from October 2022, with the addition of a new call at Yantian while dropping the Honolulu westbound call. The revised rotation calls at Busan, Yantian, Ningbo, Shanghai, Los Angeles, Oakland, Dutch Harbor, Busan and now turns in 7 weeks using 7 ships of 5,095-6,350 teu.
Doornekamp Lines is continuing to operate its China-Vancouver transpacific loader service using the owned 1,118 teu VALENCIA ELIZABETH D despite the sharp drop in freight rates on the route. Doornekamp Lines have been operating the ship on the transpacific route since 29 March 2022 when it was named SONGA LYNX and had taken ownership of the ship on 26 July 2022 from Songa and renamed it VALENCIA ELIZABETH D. Wan Hai's Asia America 9 (AA9)/Asia America Service IX connecting Far East-US East Coast has been streamlined into a eastbound round-the-world rotation with a new call at Philadelphia added since 18 August 2022 as well as new calls at Balboa and Shanghai added since October 2022. The AA9 rotation calls at Haiphong, Shekou, Kaohsiung, Shanghai, Qingdao, Balboa, Charleston, Philadelphia, New York, Suez (Canal), Haiphong. COSCO will withdraw its CENX "Prince Port Express Line" transpacific service that connects Qingdao, Shanghai, Prince Rupert, Qingdao. The last sailing was made by the 4,250 teu XIN YING KOU that departed from Qingdao on 12 November 2022. The CENX was first launched on 26 October 2021 by COSCO using 5 ships of 4,200-5,000 teu. China United Lines (CUL) will continue to operate the Transpacific Express II/South China-West US (TPC) service connecting Nansha, Yantian, Los Angeles, Nansha following the termination of the charter arrangement for the 12 panamax ships from Antong. The 4,130 teu REN JIAN 19 is expected to make the last trip for CUL using Antong’s ships, departing from Nansha on 14 December 2022. Zim, Maersk and MSC will suspend their jointly operated ZSE/TP23/Liberty service that currently covers Tanjung Pelepas, Cai Mep, Yantian, Charleston, Savannah, New York (intermittently omitted), Tanjung Pelepas.
