CMA CGM updates Eagle Express X (EXX)

CMA CGM has revised the rotation of its Eagle Express X (EXX) service from October 2022, with the addition of a new call at Yantian while dropping the Honolulu westbound call. The revised rotation calls at Busan, Yantian, Ningbo, Shanghai, Los Angeles, Oakland, Dutch Harbor, Busan and now turns in 7 weeks using 7 ships of 5,095-6,350 teu.

Doornekamp continues China-Vancouver service despite rate slump

Doornekamp Lines is continuing to operate its China-Vancouver transpacific loader service using the owned 1,118 teu VALENCIA ELIZABETH D despite the sharp drop in freight rates on the route. Doornekamp Lines have been operating the ship on the transpacific route since 29 March 2022 when it was named SONGA LYNX and had taken ownership of the ship on 26 July 2022 from Songa and renamed it VALENCIA ELIZABETH D. Wan Hai streamlines FE-USEC AA9 service

Wan Hai's Asia America 9 (AA9)/Asia America Service IX connecting Far East-US East Coast has been streamlined into a eastbound round-the-world rotation with a new call at Philadelphia added since 18 August 2022 as  well as new calls at Balboa and Shanghai added since October 2022. The AA9 rotation calls at Haiphong, Shekou, Kaohsiung, Shanghai, Qingdao, Balboa, Charleston, Philadelphia, New York, Suez (Canal), Haiphong. COSCO withdraws CENX and SEAX transpacific services from 2023 OCEAN Alliance Day 7 product

COSCO will withdraw its CENX "Prince Port Express Line" transpacific service that connects Qingdao, Shanghai, Prince Rupert, Qingdao. The last sailing was made by the 4,250 teu XIN YING KOU that departed from Qingdao on 12 November 2022. The CENX was first launched on 26 October 2021 by COSCO using 5 ships of 4,200-5,000 teu. In April 2022, OCEAN Alliance partners OOCL and CMA CGM began to participate on the service, branding it as the Pacific China North 2 (PCN2) and Great Lakes Express (GLX)

CUL downgrades Transpacific service with smaller ships

China United Lines (CUL) will continue to operate the Transpacific Express II/South China-West US (TPC) service connecting Nansha, Yantian, Los Angeles, Nansha following the termination of the charter arrangement for the 12 panamax ships from Antong. The 4,130 teu REN JIAN 19 is expected to make the last trip for CUL using Antong’s ships, departing from Nansha on 14 December 2022. CUL will deploy smaller ships on the service from 20 December, starting with the freshly chartered 1,708 teu SUNRIS

Zim/2M suspends ZSE/TP23/Liberty FE-USEC service

Zim, Maersk and MSC will suspend their jointly operated ZSE/TP23/Liberty service that currently covers Tanjung Pelepas, Cai Mep, Yantian, Charleston, Savannah, New York (intermittently omitted), Tanjung Pelepas. The last sailing will depart from Tanjung Pelepas on 23 November 2022 with the 5,936 teu IAN H. The service currently deploys 10 ships of 5,400-6,600 teu on a 13 week rotation, including 9 ships operated by Zim and 1 ship by Maersk. The suspension of this service will remove an average

SeaLead maintains China-LA link through slots on Transfar

SeaLead will continue to serve the China-US West Coast market by taking slots on Transfar's sailings between Ningbo and Long Beach from November 2022. SeaLead has ceased to call at the US West Coast since 15 October when the 3,534 teu SONIC made its last call at Long Beach. Under the new agreement signed on 3 November 2022, Transfar will sell up to 83 teu on a space used basis to SeaLead on its AES1 service that currently calls at Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Long Beach, Lazaro Cardenas, Manzan

CU Lines commits to new TPC transpacific service

CU Lines has committed to continue  operating the Transpacific Express II (TPC) service through 2023 with a new cooperation with Trapac in the port of Los Angeles that will ensure a more reliable schedule to the US West Coast. Swire Shipping and UWL have committed to operate the Sun Chief Express service between Vietnam and Seattle until 2024. The Sun Chief Express was launched on 26 April 2022 by Swire and its exclusive NVOCC partner UWL to provide connections between Ho Chi Minh City, Haiphong, Seattle, Ho Chi Minh City using 3 Chittagongmax containerships of 2,381-2,750 teu on a fortnightly (14 days) frequency.
