MSC merges Scan Baltic-USA and Ecuador-NWC service

MSC has launched a new Ecuador-NWC & Scan Baltic-USA service that merges it existing Ecuador to NWC service with the Scan Baltic to USA service. The new service calls at Klaipeda, Gdynia, Gothenburg, Bremerhaven, Felixstowe, Antwerp, Le Havre, Boston, New York, Philadelphia, Norfolk, Jacksonville, Freeport (Bahamas), Balboa, Guayaquil, Puerto Bolívar, Guayaquil, Cristobal, Moín, Antwerp, Rotterdam, Bremerhaven, Klaipeda and has started from 6 January 2024 from Klaipeda with the 8,819 teu MSC VI

CMA CGM launch NAMEX service connecting North America East Coast with Morocco

CMA CGM will launch a new North America-Morocco Express (NAMEX) service connecting Tanger Med, Halifax, New York, Philadelphia, Norfolk, Charleston, Savannah, Tanger Med from 9 January 2024. The seasonal service is aimed at the exports of fruit and vegetables from Morocco to North America. It will be operated as part of CMA CGM's Columbus JAX (CJX) service with the addition of new calls at Tanger Med as well as Philadephia. Ellerman slots on MSC Scan Baltic to USA service

Ellerman will purchase 300 teu per week on MSC's Scan Baltic to USA service on a roundtrip basis starting from 6 January 2024. The service calls at Klaipeda, Gdynia, Gothenburg, Bremerhaven, Felixstowe, Antwerp, Le Havre, New York, Philadelphia, Norfolk, Jacksonville, Klaipeda. Ellerman will have a maximum allocation of 120 teu per week from Scandinavian ports to USA. The slot arrangement on MSC will replace Ellerman's USA Express (USX) service that calls at Antwerp, Rotterdam, Hamburg, Tilbury

Spliethoff adds Transatlantic conro service

Spliethoff has launched a new Transatlantic container/roro service starting from June 2023. The service will operate on a monthly frequency and call at Antwerp, Bristol or Southampton, Baltimore, Gloucester using roro ships from sister company Transfennica that are normally operated on the intra-European routes. Kalypso pulls out from Transatlantic Med-US trade

Kalypso Compagnia di Navigazione has stopped its Transatlantic 'Cristoforo Colombo' service with the last sailing from the New York on 15 May 2023 by the 1,368 teu JULIUS that will be redelivered after ending its current voyage at Sagunto on 25 May. MSC adds Jacksonville call on ScanBaltic to USA service

MSC will add a new fortnightly call at Jacksonville to its ScanBaltic to USA service starting from 25 April 2023. The revised rotation of the ScanBaltic to USA service will be Klaipeda, Gdynia, Gothenburg, Bremerhaven, Felixstowe, Antwerp, Le Havre, New York, Philadelphia, Norfolk, Jacksonville (alternate weeks), Klaipeda. The service currently deploys 5 ships of 2,700 to 5,000 teu, with the new rotation expected to add 1 more week to the rotation.

SeaLead replaces direct Transpacific service with new transhipment option

SeaLead has ended its direct services on the Transpacific connecting China with the US and replaced it with a transhipment option to the the US East Coast by transhipment via Damietta. SeaLead started its transpacific operations in August 2021 on the Asia-US West Coast and added a Asia-US East Coast service via the Panama Canal in March 2022. These services were operated on an irregular basis using ships of 3,500 to 7,000 teu. The direct transpacific connections have stopped since December 2022

SeaLead launch new Mediterranean-US East Coast service

SeaLead has introduced a new Mediterranean-US East Coast (MEC) service connecting New York, Norfolk, Charleston, Jacksonville, Damietta, New York. The MEC service started on 22 January 2023 with the 3,380 teu AVNI from New York, after a trial Transatlantic run by the same vessel in December 2022. The new service turns in 5 weeks but will operate on an irregular basis with only 1 ship currently deployed.

Ellerman launch USA Express transatlantic service as Asia-Europe service is downgraded

Ellerman has launched a new USA Express transatlantic service that connects Antwerp, Rotterdam, Tilbury, New York, Wilmington, Jacksonville, Antwerp starting from 12 December 2022. The service turns in 4 weeks and will initially deploy 2 ships offering sailings on a fortnightly frequency. The 3,534 teu MONA LISA departed from Antwerp on 12 December and will be followed by the 5,060 teu SC MARA on 26 December 2022. Both of these ships are redeployed from Ellerman's current GB Express service

CMA CGM introduces Turkey Express (TUX) service to USEC replacing Yang Ming as partner in EMA service with COSCO, OOCL & ONE

CMA CGM has joined COSCO, OOCL and ONE on the East Mediterranean America (EMA) service, replacing Yang Ming as the 4th partner on the Med-USEC service. CMA CGM sells the service as the Turkey Express (TUX), with its participation commencing from 25 November 2022 with the introduction of the 4,360 teu CMA CGM LAPIS to the service.
