ONE and Samudera drop India from Thailand India Gulf (TIG) service

ONE and Samudera's newly upgraded Thailand India Gulf (TIG) service will drop calls at Nhava Sheva and Mundra from 18 May 2025 due to ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan. The revised TIG will call at Laem Chabang, Singapore, Karachi, Dammam, Jebel Ali, Port Qasim, Colombo, Singapore, Laem Chabang. The TIG has been calling at Laem Chabang, Singapore, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Dammam, Jebel Ali, Colombo, Singapore, Laem Chabang since 16 April 2025, turning in 35 days using 5 ships of 3,000 teu

CMA CGM delinks Pakistan and India services

CMA CGM will remove calls at Karachi and Port Qasim on 4 of its services that also serves Indian ports from 9 May 2025 due to the ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan. The affected services are EPIC, MEDEX, INDAMEX and AS1. Cargo to and from Pakistan will be redirected to the Pakistan Khalifa Express (PIKEX) that has been revised to call at Jebel Ali, Abu Dhabi, Karachi, Port Qasim, Colombo, Karachi, Jebel Ali with connections at the Jebel Ali, Abu Dhabi and Colombo hubs to other CMA CGM

MSC downgrades Transpacific network with 2 USWC services withdrawn

MSC will downgrade its Far East-US West Coast transpacific network to just 3 sailings per week, with the Orient service withdrawn from May 2025. It follows the earlier the suspension of the Mustang service launch in February. The Orient service called at Qingdao, Ningbo, Shanghai, Long Beach, Oakland, Busan, Qingdao turning in 6 weeks using up to 6 ships of 8,000 to 15,000 teu. The last sailing was made by the 14,952 teu MSC ORION that departed from Busan from 21 April 2025 and 11,037 teu CAPE

SITC launches Far East-India Express 3 (FIE3)

SITC will launch a new Far East-India Express 3 (FIE3) service from 10 May 2025 calling at Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Batam, Haldia, Shanghai. The new FIE3 service will turn in 4 weeks and will deploy 4 ships of 1,700-1,800 teu starting with the 1,781 teu SITC JUNDE at Shanghai on 10 May 2025.

Bengal Tiger Line, Evergreen, Regional Container Line and Wan Hai Line will team up to launch a new Vietnam-Thailand-East Coast India service calling at Ho Chi Minh City, Laem Chabang, Singapore, Port Klang Northport, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Port Klang, Singapore, Ho Chi Minh City. SeaLead will launch a new Far East-India Express 3 (FIX3) service connecting Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, Nhava Sheva, Shanghai. The FIX3 will turn in 6 weeks and will deploy up to 6 ships of 2,500-4,600 teu starting with the 4,628 teu ZHONG GU YIN CHUAN at Shanghai on 7 March 2025.

Zhonggu and VIMC launch Qinzhou-Haiphong-Kolkata service

Zhonggu Shipping and Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC) have teamed up to launch a new Qinzhou-Haiphong-Kolkata service. The service was launched on 18 February 2025 with the 529 teu XIN HAI XIU at Haiphong. The service will operate on an irregular 2-3 week frequency.

ESL adds India-East Mediterranean Express (IEX) connections

Emirates Shipping Line (ESL) has added an India-East Mediterranean Express (IEX) service connecting Mundra, Jeddah, Alexandria, Mersin, Iskenderun, Alexandria, Jeddah, Mundra. The service was launched on 18 November 2024 at Mundra and deploys the 1,781 teu ASL TAIPEI and ASL HONG KONG on a 28 day rotation with a fortnightly service frequency.

RCL adds RCL North China Straits India (RNI6) service

RCL has added a new RCL North China Straits India (RNI6) service by joining Wan Hai and Interasia Lines (IAL) on their existing China-India 2 (CI2) / Interasia China-India (ICI) service that calls at Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, Port Klang(WP), Port Klang(NP), Nhava Sheva, Cochin, Port Klang(NP), Qingdao. RCL will add the 5,888 teu AKA BHUM to the service which turns in 42 days using 6 ships of 4,200 to 5,900 teu.

Arkas & Turkon launch India Med Service (IMS)/Turkiye Red Sea India (TRI)

Arkas and Turkon will launch a new service branded respectively as the India Med Service (IMS) and Turkiye-Red Sea-India (TRI) service connecting Ambarli, Evyap, Aliaga, Mersin, Aqaba, Jeddah, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Jeddah, Aqaba, Alexandria, Ambarli from 2 February 2025.
