MSC has relaunched its China-India Osprey extra loader service that will start on 28 April 2026 with the 5,041 teu MSC TAMPA V at Qingdao followed by the 9,200 teu MSC MADELEINE at Ningbo on 7 May and the 6,492 teu MSC AQUARIUS VII at Qingdao on 15 May. These ships will provide direct connections to Mundra to cater for the increased demand on the corridor due to the Middle East war.
Akkon Lines has added a second ship to the East Africa Service (EAS) calling at Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Karachi, Dar es Salaam, Mombasa, Nhava Sheva with the service frequency upgraded from monthly to fortnightly. The EAS was first launched at Nhava Sheva on 13 February 2026 using a single ship, the 1,696 teu NARA on a monthly frequency until 4 April 2026 when a second ship, the 1,740 teu KONRAD was added. The service turns in 30 days on a rolling schedule with one sailing every 2 weeks.

Six Indian companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish the Bharat Container Shipping Line (BCSL) on 3 February 2026. The shareholders comprise of Container Corporation of India (CONCOR, 30%), Shipping Corporation of India (SCI, 30%), Sagarmala Finance Corporation Ltd. CMA CGM will reroute the India America Express (INDAMEX) service to the Suez Canal on both directions from January 2025. The revised INDAMEX service will call Port Qasim, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Colombo, New York, Norfolk, Savannah, Charleston, Jeddah, Port Qasim. It is expected to turn in 11 weeks under the new rotation, compared to 13 to 14 weeks on the current rotation via the Cape of Good Hope. CMA CGM will launch a new Thailand Vietnam India EC (TVI) service connecting Laem Chabang, Cai Mep, Singapore, Port Klanf, Chennai, Colombo, Laem Chabang from 23 December 2025. The TVI will replace the existing India East Coast Express 2 (IEX2) service that calls at Singapore, Chennai, Colombo, Singapore. The TVI service will turn in 4 weeks using 4 ships of 1,700 to 2,800 teu starting with the 2,822 teu CNC JAGUAR at Laem Chabang on 23 December 2025.
SITC has launched a new Far East-India Express (FIE) service connecting Xingang, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Shekou, Chennai, Visakhapatnam, Haldia, Yangon, Ho Chi Minh City, Incheon, Xingang from 4 September 2025. The FIE service turns in 42 days and deploys 6 ships of 2,400 teu starting with the 2,433 teu SITC CAGAYAN at Xingang on 4 September.
COSCO will launch a new Southeast Asia India 1 (SEI1) calling at Surabaya, Jakarta, Singapore, Port Klang, Nhava Sheva, Port Klang, Singapore, Surabaya from September 2025. Sinotrans has replaced its China India West (CIW) service operated in partnership with SeaLead with a new CIW service operated in partnership with COSCO on the latter's China India 1 (CI1) service. Sinotrans will operate the 4,130 teu REN JIAN 19 on the CI1/CIW service from 28 June 2025 connecting Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, Yangpu, Singapore, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Karachi, Colombo, Singapore, Shanghai, joining 5 other ships from COSCO of 8,500 to 9,500 teu.
Inland World Logistics has launched its first self-operated container shipping service with the chartered 602 teu ALBERO on 18 July 2025. After an initial trip from Singapore with a load of 364 teu arriving at Kolkata on 31 July 2025, the ship will be phased into a Kolkata, Port Klang, Kolkata rotation that is operated by a new entity called Inland Voyage.
