Containerships Launches BLX

Containerships, the intra-Europe short sea subsidiary of CMA CGM, is launching a new Baltic Express (BLX) service that will call at Bremerhaven, Hamburg, Gdansk, Klaipeda, Riga, Norrkoping, Bremerhaven as an expansion of the Poland Express (PLX). The two vessels, the 1,404 teu HEINRICH EHLER and 1,638 teu BALTIC TERN, currently deployed in th PLX will be redeployed on the BLX. HEINRICH EHLER will start BLX on 1 May 2023 at Bremerhaven followed a week later by BALTIC TERN.

CMA CGM and MSC add Ennore call on Australia Express/NEMO Service

CMA CGM and MSC will add a new call at Ennore on the westbound leg of their jointly North Europe Med Oceania (NEMO)/Australia Express (AEX) service from 9 June 2023. The new call will provide the direct import connections from Australia and Singapore to Ennore, and export connections from Ennore to the Med and North European ports. CMA CGM and Unifeeder to launch Greece-Turkey-Georgia service

CMA CGM and Unifeeder/Unimed will launch a new Black Sea service that will call at Piraeus, Ambarli, Poti, Piraeus starting from 21 April 2023. The service is branded as the Caucasus Georgia Express by CMA CGM and Greece-Turkey-Georgia service by Unifeeder/Unimed, and will deploy the 1,096 teu CMA CGM BLOSSOM and the 1,145 teu SC PHOENIX on a 14 day rotation.

CMA CGM net profit down 57% QoQ

CMA CGM disclosed some head line figures for its FY2022 and Q4 2022 results on March 4. The group level net profit dropped 57% QoQ and 55% YoY, driven primarily by lower container freight rates (-13% QoQ) and to lesser extent lower volume (-9% QoQ). CMA CGM is launching a couple of West African Feeders. Central Range Feeder, calling Abidjan, Monrovia, San Pedro, Takoradi, Abidjan on weekly basis with two 1,338 teu ships, will start on 23 March with ATLANTIC SILVER at Abidjan. CMA CGM reshuffles West Africa services

CMA CGM will revise its Europe-West Africa and West Africa feeder service from March 2023. The Europe Afrique 3 (EURAF 3) service will be withdrawn from 10 April and the 4 ships of 1,600-1,740 teu will be redeployed on the WAZZAN. This service current calls at Algeciras, Tangier, Freetown, Monrovia, San Pedro, Banjul, Algeciras. CMA CGM and OOCL/COSCO are jointly launching a new Bangladesh India Gulf Express (BIGEX) service that connects Chittagong, Colombo, Mangalore, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Jebel Ali, Abu Dhabi, Chittagong. CNC,a subsidiary of CMA CGM, is launching Java Singapore Shuttle that calls Singapore, Semarang, Surabaya, Singapore with 2,478 teu APL CAIRO on weekly basis. APL CAIRO will phase in at Singapore on 7 February.

Containerships, a subsidiary of CMA CGM, is launching several shuttle services connecting Germany with the Scandinavian ports.
