CMA CGM net profit down 57% QoQ

CMA CGM disclosed some head line figures for its FY2022 and Q4 2022 results on March 4. The group level net profit dropped 57% QoQ and 55% YoY, driven primarily by lower container freight rates (-13% QoQ) and to lesser extent lower volume (-9% QoQ). CMA CGM is launching a couple of West African Feeders. Central Range Feeder, calling Abidjan, Monrovia, San Pedro, Takoradi, Abidjan on weekly basis with two 1,338 teu ships, will start on 23 March with ATLANTIC SILVER at Abidjan. CMA CGM reshuffles West Africa services

CMA CGM will revise its Europe-West Africa and West Africa feeder service from March 2023. The Europe Afrique 3 (EURAF 3) service will be withdrawn from 10 April and the 4 ships of 1,600-1,740 teu will be redeployed on the WAZZAN. This service current calls at Algeciras, Tangier, Freetown, Monrovia, San Pedro, Banjul, Algeciras. CMA CGM and OOCL/COSCO are jointly launching a new Bangladesh India Gulf Express (BIGEX) service that connects Chittagong, Colombo, Mangalore, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Jebel Ali, Abu Dhabi, Chittagong. The service is scheduled to start from 5 April 2023 and will turn in 28 days with 4 ships of 1,700 teu, of which 3 are from CMA CGM and 1 ship from OOCL.

The four carrier partnership of ANL (CMA CGM), Hapag-Lloyd, Maersk and ONE on the SE Asia-Australia route will revise their 3 existing services from March 2023. The first service, branded respectively as the ANL 'AAX-S' (changed from AAX1), Hapag-Lloyd 'SEA', Maersk 'Greater Australia Connect' (GAC) (changed from Cobra) and ONE 'AU1', will call at Port Klang, Tanjung Pelepas, Singapore, Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Fremantle, Port Kelang from 9 March 2023 with the 8,400 teu MAERSK STRALSUND .
