CMA CGM will drop the Containerships brand from 1 July 2023, with all of the Containerships services coming under the unified CMA CGM brand. Containerships was founded in 1966 with operations based in Helsinki in Finland. Containerships launch SCX 2 Scotland Express 2 service

Containerships, the intra-Europe arm of CMA CGM, will launch a new Scotland Express 2 (SCX 2) service connecting Rotterdam, Hull, Grangemouth, Rotterdam from 8 July 2023 using the 750 teu ENCOUNTER. CNC, the intra-Asia arm of CMA CGM, has introduced a new South China-Philippines CP3 service that will start from 30 June 2023 to call at Shekou, Hong Kong, Subic Bay, Cebu, Cagayan de Oro, Kaohsiung, Shekou. CMA CGM launch new Asia-Med service to Turkey and Libya

CMA CGM will launch a new Turkey Libya Express (TLX) service connecting Asia with the Red Sea, Turkey and Libya. The new weekly service will start on 1 July 2023 with the 2,468 teu BUXLINK and will deploy 9 ships of 2,500-4,400 teu. The service will call at Shanghai, Ningbo, Nansha, Singapore, Jeddah, Iskenderun, Malta, Misurata, Jeddah, Port Klang, Shanghai.

CNC/CMA CGM to launch North China Booster service

CNC, the intra-Asia subsidiary of CMA CGM, is launching a North China Booster service that connects Dalian, Qingdao, Busan, Kwangyang, Busan, Dalian. The new feeder service  will turn in 7 days using the 1,708 teu CNC BANGKOK that will phase in at Dalian on 30 June 2023.

Main carriers liftings drop for 7th consecutive quarter

Container liftings for main carriers fell 6.8% YoY in 1Q 2023, accelerating from the 6.6% YoY fall in 4Q. All  9 of the main carriers recorded volume reductions, with Zim and Maersk recording the largest drops. The aggregate liftings of the 9 carriers in 1Q 2023 were even lower than the 2Q 2020 level during the first COVID wave. Despite the of the continuous improvement of the vessel turnaround time on the easing of port congestion, liner’s volume yield (liftings per slot) has continued to fall

Containerships upgrade Portugal East Coast (PGEC) service

CMA CGM's Containerships has upgraded its Portugal East Coast (PGEC) with new calls at Bassens (France) and Algeciras (Spain) from 6 June 2023. The revised PGEC rotation will call at Rotterdam, Bassens, Setubal, Algeciras, Setubal, Leixoes, Ferrol, Tilbury, Dunkirk, Antwerp, Vlissingen, Rotterdam on a 21 day rotation using 3 ships - the 962 teu SPICA J, 812 teu VOHBURG and 803 teu JORK RULER.

Containerships/CMA CGM combines PGWC and POSS service

Containerships will combine the PGWC (Portugal-West Coast) with the POSS (Portugal South Spain) into a revamped PGWC service from 18 May 2023. The extended service will call at Dublin, Liverpool, Montoir, Leixoes, Algeciras, Vigo, Setubal, Leixoes, Ferrol, Liverpool, Dublin. ANL, CMA CGM's Australia based subsidiary, has launched a new South East Asia Australia - West C. loop on 18 March 2023 using 3 ships of 1,700-1,900 teu. The service will operate in competition with the ONE/Maersk/Hapag-Lloyd service that ANL was initially slated to join.
