Safeen Feeders have upgraded its UAE-India-Gulf (UIG) service with the introduction of 3,500 teu ships to the service from July 2023 with the port rotation streamlined to call at Abu Dhabi, Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Abu Dhabi, Umm Qasr, Dammam, Abu Dhabi. Calls at Kandla, Hamad and Bahrain that were previously in the UIG rotation have been dropped. X-Press Feeders will launch a new Irish Sea X-PRESS 5 (ISX 5) service connecting Southampton, Greenock, Belfast, Dublin, Cork, Southampton from 9 July 2023 with the 868 teu HELMUT. The service will provide relay connections at Southampton to Western Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland.
Containerships, the intra-Europe arm of CMA CGM, will launch a new Scotland Express 2 (SCX 2) service connecting Rotterdam, Hull, Grangemouth, Rotterdam from 8 July 2023 using the 750 teu ENCOUNTER. The SCX 2 will turn weekly in 7 days and will call at 3 terminals at Rotterdam - Rotterdam World Gateway (RWG), Dedicated Delta South (DDE) and RST Zuidzijde. FESCO has launched a new FESCO Black Sea Service (FBSS) connecting Rizhao, Shanghai, Shekou, Nhava Sheva, Novorossiysk with the 1,118 teu FESCO ASKOLD making the maiden voyage from Rizhao on 12 June 2023. The ship is scheduled to arrive at Novorossiysk on 19 July after a 36 day one-way transit. Akkon Lines will introduce a new Turkiye Oran Service (TOS) calling at Ambarli, Gebze, Gemlik, Aliaga, Oran, Ambarli from 1 July 2023 using the 658 teu DEPE.
PIL will launch a new Intra-Red Sea Feeder 2 (IR2) service connecting Djibouti, Hodeidah, Djibouti from 29 June 2023 using the 938 teu KOTA RAHMAT. Wan Hai's Japan Korea Haiphong (JKH) service will be withdrawn with the last sailing by the 1,510 teu WAN HAI 281 that will end at Shekou on 2 July 2023. The service deployed 3 ships of 1,500-1,800 teu on a 21 days round trip that called at Moji, Hakata, Ulsan, Busan, Kwangyang, Keelung, Kaohsiung, Nansha, Haiphong, Qinzhou, Hong Kong, Shekou, Xiamen, Moji.
Grimaldi has introduced a new container/roro service connecting Europe and ANZ with an irregular monthly frequency. The maiden voyage was made by the 31,340 dwt GRANDE COTONOU (1,800 teu/5,770 lane meters) from 3 April 2023 that called at Southampton, Bremerhaven, Antwerp, Gioia Tauro, Jeddah, Melbourne, Auckland. After the Auckland call on 4 June 2023, the ship will make a return trip to Europe via Busan, Shanghai, Laem Chabang.
X-Press Feeders have introduced a new Colombo West Coast India (CWC) service through slots on CMA CGM/OOCL's Bangladesh India Gulf Express that is operated with 4 ships of 1,700 teu. The full service rotation calls at Chittagong, Colombo, New Mangalore, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Jebel Ali, Abu Dhabi, Chittagong, with X-Press' CWC offering only the Colombo, New Mangalore, Nhava Sheva leg of the service.
