Kawa Shipping and Zhejiang Seaport Logistics Group have launched a new China-Europe Express (CEX) service connecting Ningbo, Wilhelmshaven, Ningbo from 29 December 2024. The CEX service will offer a 26 day transit time between China and Germany which is currently the fastest service on this route as it will use the Suez Canal while all the other services are on the Cape route. CMA CGM will add a new Odessa Express (ODX) service connecting Piraeus, Odeassa, Ambarli, Piraeus from 24 January 2025. The ODX service turn in 14 days and will deploy 2 ships of 1,100-1,500 teu starting with the 1,118 teu LILA CANADA at Piraeus on 24 January followed by the 1,550 teu TJ ORHAN on 31 January.
Hapag-Lloyd will launch a new Vietnam Cambodia (VCS) service connecting Sihanoukville, Cai Mep, Haiphong, Yantian, Shekou, Sihanoukville from 18 January 2025. The service will turn in 14 days using 2 newbuildings of 1,930 teu that Hapag-Lloyd has taken on 2 year charters from Reederei Nord starting with the NORDATLANTIC at Sihanoukville on 18 January 2025 followed by the NORDBALTIC on 25 January 2025.
Folk Maritime has upgraded the India Gulf Service (IGS) connecting Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Dammam, Umm Qasr, Nhava Sheva from December 2024 to a regular weekly service. The service was first launched in 23 October 2024 with the 1,809 teu ASTERIOS on a 14-18 day frequency. The service has been upgraded to a weekly frequency with a second ship, the 1,930 teu BORKUM, joining the service at Nhava Sheva from 16 December 2024.
Maersk will launch a new SLN (Mediterranean Sea C) service calling at Barcelona, Valencia, Algeciras, Casablanca, Tangier Med, Mersin, Haifa, Alexandria, Fos, Barcelona from 12 January 2025. The service will replace its existing SLZ (Mediterranean Sea A) and SLH (Mediterranean Sea B) services that Maersk operates jointly with Arkas. COSCO Shipping has launched a new Yangpu Indonesia Express (YIX) service connecting Yangpu, Nansha, Jakarta, Semarang, Singapore, Semarang, Jakarta, Yangpu from 26 December 2024. The YIX turns in 3 weeks using 3 ships of 1,000-1,800 teu starting with the 1,876 teu BRIGHT COSMOS at Yangpu on 26 December 2024.
CMA CGM has launched a new Bora Med Service (BMS) linking Antalya, Izmir, Aliaga, Ambarli, Gebze, Gemlik, Malta, Ancona, Ravenna, Venice, Trieste, Koper, Rijeka, Bar, Taranto, Malta, Limassol, Alexandria, Beirut, Antalya from 26 December 2024. The BMS service turns in 42 days and will deploy 6 ships of 1,800 to 2,500 teu starting with the 2,207 teu CMA CGM SAHARA at Antalya on 26 December 2024. The Adriatic Service 1 (AD1) will start from 18 January 2025 calling at Damietta, Koper, Venice, Piraeus, Thessaloniki, El Dekhelia, Damietta using 3 ships of 1,000 teu - the 1,042 teu CHATTANOOGA, 1,118 teu MITO and 1,118 teu BALLATA. Ningbo Ocean Shipping (NBOSCO) has launched a new China Japan Vietnam 1 (CJV1) service connecting Osaka, Kobe, Nagoya, Tokyo, Yokohama, Taicang, Zhapu, Ningbo, Haiphong, Ningbo, Zhapu, Taicang, Osaka from 1 May 2024. The service turns in 3 weeks using 3 ships of 1,000 teu and replaced the former CJKS1/CJKT5 service that called at Ningbo, Hakata, Moji, Osaka, Kobe, Zhapu, Taicang, Osaka, Kobe, Nagoya, Tokyo, Yokohama, Zhapu, Ningbo.
ONE has joined Emirates Shipping (ESL), Global Feeder Shipping (GFS) and KMTC on the Far East-Middle East GLX/GALEX/AIM service as a vessel operator from 1 November 2024. ONE has added the 6,765 teu HYUNDAI BUSAN to the service from 11 December 2024, replacing one of ESL's ships that form part of the 7 ships of 6,500 teu to 8,500 teu on the service. TS Lines and RCL also participate on the service as slot buyers.
