CU Lines ends Asia-Europe/Med and Transpacific services

CU Lines have made its last voyages on the Asia-Europe and Transpacific routes, ending its brief foray into the main East-West routes and will henceforth refocus on its core intra-Asia and Far East-India Subconinent & Middle East routes. Zim withdraws ZNP service and slots on MSC's Chinook

Zim has withdrawn the Zim North Pacific (ZNP) service with the last sailing from Busan on 12 July 2023. The ZNP deployed up to 7-9 ships of 2,700-4,300 teu and called at Kaohsiung, Yantian, Ningbo, Shanghai, Busan, Vancouver (BC), Busan, Kaohsiung. The removal of the ZNP will remove 1% from the FE-USWC capacity. THE Alliance drops PS5 service

THE Alliance carriers (Hapag-Lloyd, HMM, ONE and Yang Ming) will suspend the FE-US West Coast PS5 service from August 2023. The service calls at Shanghai, Ningbo, Los Angeles, Oakland, Tokyo, Shanghai using 6 ships of 8,000-9,000 teu from ONE with an average weekly capacity of 8,468 teu. Pasha/Costco terminates Transpacific service

Pasha has ended its involvement on the transpacific service operated exclusively for Costco with the last voyage made by the 2,756 teu CAPE ALTIUS that ended at Yantian on 1 June 2023. The ship has been re-let to Hapag-Lloyd for the remainder of its 40-44 month lease that started in March 2023. It is the last of the 11 ships that were chartered by Pasha on behalf of Costco for the Asia to US trade. The North China Express (NCX) service that is jointly operated by KMTC, SITC, RCL and X-Press Feeders has been suspended from 14 May 2023. Maersk and MSC have announced the suspension of their AE1/Shogun service that is one of the 6 Asia-North Europe loops operated within the 2M alliance. Zim/GSL rationalizes China Australia CAX service after withdrawal of C2A/C3A

Zim/GSL will add new calls at Busan and Kaohsiung on its China Australia Express (CAX) service. Zim has withdrawn the ZIM eCommerce Xpress (ZEX) service with the last sailing by the 4,253 teu ALEXANDER BAY that will complete its current voyage at Busan on 30 March 2023. Transfar to exit transpacific trade

Transfar Shipping will stop its transpacific services from February 2023 after the 3 ships it currently deploys on the trade end their current voyages from the US East Coast.
