X-Press Feeders have deployed the first 2 of its 1,260 teu methanol dual fuel containerships on the Green Finland X-PRESS (GFX) service connecting Rotterdam, Antwerp, Helsinki, Tallinn, Kotka, Rotterdam. The GFX was launched on 12 July 2024. with the methanol fueled 1,260 teu ECO MAESTRO, with the sistership ECO LEVANT joining the service on 17 August 2024. Samskip and Viasea have teamed up to launch a new UK-Rotterdam-Norway Oslofjord service that calls at Rotterdam and Immingham/Tilbury to 6 ports in Norway from 1 March 2024. The service will deploy 4 ships of 500-800 teu, and will offer 3 weekly calls at Oslo, 2 calls at Moss and 1 call at Brevik, Kristiansand, Frederikstad and Larvik. At Rotterdam, the service will call at the multipurpose Martrans terminal.
Samskip will launch a new Spain-United Kingdom-Rotterdam service connecting Rotterdam, Santander, Tilbury, Rotterdam from 2 April 2024 with the 803 teu SAMSKIP EXPRESS. The service will operate on a weekly frequency and is aimed at replacing road-ferry alternatives in the European short-sea route.
COSCO and Evergreen have separately launched emergency loaders to connect North Europe with the Med port of Piraeus to evacuate containers and provide ad hoc connections for cargo to and from the Med region that have been affected by the diversions of the OCEAN Alliance's Asia-North Europe services to the Cape route. Roro specialist CLdN has launched a new Rotterdam-Ireland Lolo service from 18 March 2024 calling at Rotterdam, Dublin, Cork, Rotterdam. The new service will provide 2 sailings per week using 2 newly chartered 962 teu ships - ANDROMEDA J and PAVO J. The service will call CLdN's newly acquired Distriport terminal in Rotterdam with sailings departing Rotterda every Thursday and Saturday to complement CLdN's existing Roro services between the Netherlands, UK and Ireland.
ONE will launch a new Scandinavia Baltic Express (SBX) from 19 May 2024 calling at Wilhelmshaven, Hamburg, Fredericia, Gdynia, Wilhelmshaven. The service will turn on a weekly basis using one ship that will be named closer to the launch date in May. In conjunection to the SBX launch, ONE will also revise the rotation of its IBESCO/Iberia-Europe-Scandinavia (IBC) service with the current call at Gdynia dropped while adding new calls at Copenhagen and Helsingborg.
