CMA CGM 22Q2 results out after Friday close without much surprises. The reports from the other liners have pretty much painted the picture of the liner industry financial performance during 22Q2, e.g. larger liners reporting sequential earnings growth while smaller liners reporting sequential earnings drop probably a result of contract mix. CMA CGM reported sequential growth in revenue yield (revenue generate by each capacity slot in a quarter), similar to that of Maersk and Hapag Lloyd. Hence

CMA CGM is launching Turkey North Africa Express 2 (TURAF2) covering Damietta, Marsaxlokk, Casablanca, Damietta on 21-day rotation. The new service will start on June 27 with AS SVENJA calling at Damietta.

The service will turn in 10 weeks, using 5 ships of 3,300 teu to 5,090 teu on a fortnightly frequency with 3 ships from CMA CGM and 2 ships from COSCO. CMA CGM will relaunch its Indian Ocean Feeder 3 (IO Feeder 3) service that connects Pointe des Galets, Port Louis, Tamatave, Pointe des Galets, Longoni, Pointe des Galets on a fortnightly basis, linking the 3 Indian Ocean nations of Mauritius and Madagascar with the French overseas department of Reunion. The new Mediterranean West Africa Express (MEDWAX) will turn in 28 days with 4 ships of 2,500-2,800 teu calling at Algeciras, Tanger, Dakar, Conakry, Freetown, San Pedro, Algeciras starting with the 2,783 teu ATLANTIC DISCOVERER on 7 May 2022.
