Wan Hai upgrades transpacific capacity despite the suspension of 2 transpacific services calling Oakland/Seattle

Wan Hai will withdraw 2 of its Far East-US West Coast services calling at Oakland and Seattle, but will retain its remaining 4 transpacific services that serves the US West Coast (2 services) and the US East Coast (2 services) with an increase in overall capacity as its first 13,200 teu ships are introduced on the trade. Akkon launch Novo Shuttle Service

Akkon has launched a new Novo Shuttle Service (NSS) that connects Novorossiysk directly to Turkish ports. The direct NSS shuttles have been started offered since August 2022 and it runs concurrently with the existing New Black Sea Service (NBS) that also connects Novorossiysk with Turkey but with an additional call at Constanza added. Akkon launch FE-Med service

Akkon Lines has launched a new Far East-Med service connecting Taicang, Ningbo, Dachan Bay, Singapore, Mersin, Aliaga, Gebze, Ambarli, Mundra, Taicang with the newly chartered 1,736 teu A DAISEN. The Far East (FE) service was launched on 2 October 2022, using a single ship with a turnaround of 53 days. It marks the first time that Akkon is venturing outside of its core Med services. Liner revenue rolled over in Sep

OOIL and the Taiwanese liners' revenue reports came out after the market close on Friday (7 Oct). All four liners reported sequentially lower revenue in 3Q. Liners will start to report their 3Q earnings in the coming weeks. These revenue reports suggest 3Q earnings may have come off from this cycle peak in 2Q. COSCO/CUL adds China Philippines Express (CPX) service

COSCO and China United Lines (CUL) have launched a new joint service branded as the China Philippines Express (CPX). The service calls at Shanghai, Xiamen, Manila, Subic Bay, Shanghai starting from 21 Sep 2022 using the 1,432 teu JIN YUN HE and the 1,713 teu AS SERENA. The new service replaces the  China-Vietnam Express (CV5/CVX) service that was jointly operated by COSCO and CUL calling at Shanghai, Xiamen, Ho Chi Minh City, Shanghai.


X-Press Feeders launch Chile Peru X-Press (CPX)

X-Press Feeders has launched a new Chile Peru X-Press (CPX) service from 11 October 2022 calling at Callao, Arica, Iquique, Callao using the 1,638 teu BALTIC PETREL.


Zim/Gold Star Line launch Korea Express (KRX) service

Gold Star Line will launch a new Korea Express (KRX) service from 18 October 2022 calling at Taichung, Kaohsiung, Shekou, Xiamen, Busan (New Port & North Port), Incheon, Xiamen, Taichung. The GSL service will turn in 2 weeks using the 1,134 teu ZIM AUSTRALIA and the 1,049 teu ASIATIC PRIDE.


CMA CGM suspends Golden Gate Bridge service

CMA CGM has suspended further sailings on the Golden Gate Bridge (GGB) service that called at Kaohsiung, Shekou, Shanghai, Busan, Seattle, Oakland Kaohsiung with the last sailing from Busan on 15 Sep 2022 with the 9,415 teu CMA CGM MEDEA. The GGB service has been running on an irregular basis since April with departures every 2 weeks due to severe congestion at Oakland and Seattle. The last 4 ships currently deployed on this services have all been re-assigned with the 11,388 teu CMA CGM GEMINI


Unifeeder adds Wilhemshaven-Scandinavia feeder links

Unifeeder will add 2 new Scandinavian feeder connections with Wilhelmshaven starting from 11 October 2022. The 1,008 teu IDA RAMBOW will serve the Wilhemshaven, Hamburg, Fredericia, Aarhus, Wilhelmshaven route and the 1,338 teu JAN will serve the Hamburg, Wilhelmshaven, Oslo, Gothenburg, Hamburg route.


Hapag-Lloyd revise CGX port rotation

Hapag-Lloyd has added Shanghai to the China-Germany Express (CGX) rotation and replaced the current Le Havre call with Antwerp. The revised CGX will call at Shanghai, Dachan Bay, Singapore, Wilhelmshaven, Antwerp, Shanghai starting from 8 November with the 4,252 SEASPAN HAMBURG.
