PIL has introduced a new Gulf China Service 2 (GC2) through a slot arrangement with ESL on the Galex service. The service is jointly operated by Emirates Shipping Line (ESL), Global Feeder Shipping (GFS), KMTC and RCL using 7 ships of 6,500-8,500 teu with a full rotation that calls at Busan, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Dachan Bay, Port Klang, Khor Fakkan, Jebel Ali, Sohar, Qingdao, Busan. CMA CGM is launching a couple of West African Feeders. Central Range Feeder, calling Abidjan, Monrovia, San Pedro, Takoradi, Abidjan on weekly basis with two 1,338 teu ships, will start on 23 March with ATLANTIC SILVER at Abidjan. Zim launches Caribbean Gulf Express (CGX) that will rotate through Kingston, Houston, Mobile, Kingston with two vessels on 14-day round trip. 1,100 teu CONTSHIP DON will phase in on 14 April at Houston while 1,496 teu WARNOW MASTER will phase in on 15 April at Kingston. Until recently, both vessels have been deployed in ZIM's Intra-East Mediterranean. They will both take a single voyage in ZIM's ZIM Container Service Atlantic to be positioned to the US East Coast before joining CGX.
Shanghai Jin Jiang Shipping (JJ Shipping) is launching CHH3, a new connection between China and Vietnam. This new weekly service will turnaround in 14-days going through Qingdao, Shanghai, Nansha, Haiphong, Shanghai, Qingdao with two vessels. The 1,098 teu MILD JAZZ will phase in on 7 March at Nansha. MILD JAZZ has been servicing in JJ Shipping's Four Season Express or CHH2, which connects Japan, East China and Vietnam.
SeaLead will launch a new Australia-Indian Subcontinent service branded as the ASIA service from 20 March. The service will start from 20 March 2023 with the 4,250 teu REN JIAN 26 and call at Port Klang, Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Port Klang, Karachi, Mundra, Nhava Sheva, Port Klang. The service will be operate on an irregular basis with only 2 ships with a frequency of 20-30 days, with plans to increase the frequency in the second half of 2023. Zim has withdrawn the ZIM eCommerce Xpress (ZEX) service with the last sailing by the 4,253 teu ALEXANDER BAY that will complete its current voyage at Busan on 30 March 2023. The ZEX was launched in June 2020 to cater for the increased demand on the transpacific following the COVID-19 crisis and was originally designed to call only at Yantian, Dachan Bay, Los Angeles on a 35 day round trip using 5 ships of 4,250 teu. Milaha and X-Press Feeders are teaming up to launch a new India-UAE-Qatar-Saudi service connecting Jebel Ali, Khalifa Port, Nhava Sheva, Hazira, Mundra, Jebel Ali, Hamad, Dammam, Jebel Ali. The service is branded as the India Middle East X-Press service (IMEX) by X-Press Feeders and it is an extended version of the current Nhava Sheva Doha Express (NDX) operated by Milaha with the addition of new calls at Khalifa, Hazira and Dammam. FESCO has introduced a new FESCO Indian Line West (FILW) service connecting Novorossiysk, Ambarli, Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Novorossiysk. The service will be operated on a fortnightly basis starting from 1 March 2023, with the first sailing expected to use the 1,440 teu GFS SAPPHIRE.
CMA CGM will revise its Europe-West Africa and West Africa feeder service from March 2023. The Europe Afrique 3 (EURAF 3) service will be withdrawn from 10 April and the 4 ships of 1,600-1,740 teu will be redeployed on the WAZZAN. This service current calls at Algeciras, Tangier, Freetown, Monrovia, San Pedro, Banjul, Algeciras. OVP Shipping has launched a new Baltic Sea direct service that connects Qingdao, Ningbo, Taicang, Nansha, St Petersburg, Qingdao. The service started on 16 January 2023 from Qingdao with the 3,081 teu STONEWELL GLORY. A second sailing is planned in February with the 1,878 teu ALLSEAS PIONEER but the voyage has been delayed due to vessel repairs. From the end of February 2023, OVP will also offer direct connections to St Petersburg through slots on the Safetrans service that will operate on a f
