COSCO and ONE will jointly launch a new East Africa Mozambique (EMS) / Mozambique Coast Link (MCL) service connecting Port Louis, Maputo, Beira, Nacala, Port Louis from 18 September 2026. The service will turn in 42 days and will operate on a fortnightly frequency using 3 ships of 1,200 to 1,800 teu starting with the 1,496 teu CONTSHIP DAY operated by COSCO, followed by the 1,876 teu BRIGHT FUJI from ONE and 1,200 teu CAPE FLORES from COSCO.
COSCO, HMM, Interasia Lines (IAL) and Pacific International Lines (PIL) will jointly launch a new India-East Africa service connecting Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Dar Es Salaam, Mombasa, Nhava Sheva. The service will turn in 35 days and will deploy 5 ships of 2,400-3,000 teu from 23 September 2026. The service will be branded respectively by HMM as the Gulf India East Africa (GIA), IAL as India-East Africa Service (IEX) and PIL as the Imara Express (IMX).
PIL will split its existing Mozambique Service (MZS) into 3 new services from August 2026 with enhanced coverage of Mozambique, Madagascar and Mascarene Islands that will be served separately as follows: * Mozambique 1 (MZ1) will call at Singapore, Beira, Singapore on a 14 day rotation using the 3,075 teu KOTA KAMIL and KOTA KARIM from 23 August 2026. * Mozambique 2 (MZ2) will call at Singapore, Maputo, Nacala, Singapore on a rolling 30-35 days rotation on an 15-20 day frequency with the 1,80
MSC has launched a new Zephyr service connecting Singapore, Colombo, Djibouti, Salalah, Singapore from 7 June 2026. The service will turn in 28 days and deploy 4 ships of 4,200 teu to 5,000 teu starting with the 4,738 teu MSC SHRINIKA V at Singapore on 7 June.
Akkon Lines has added a second ship to the East Africa Service (EAS) calling at Nhava Sheva, Mundra, Karachi, Dar es Salaam, Mombasa, Nhava Sheva with the service frequency upgraded from monthly to fortnightly. The EAS was first launched at Nhava Sheva on 13 February 2026 using a single ship, the 1,696 teu NARA on a monthly frequency until 4 April 2026 when a second ship, the 1,740 teu KONRAD was added. The service turns in 30 days on a rolling schedule with one sailing every 2 weeks.
CMA CGM has launched a new Kanimambo service connecting Colombo, Beira, Nacala, Colombo from 27 March 2026. The service will turn in 35 days and deploy 5 ships of 1,700 to 2,500 teu running on a weekly basis starting with the 1,710 teu EF EMMA at Colombo on 27 March 2026.
MSC will merge its Japan-Southeast Asia Origami service with the Singapore-Kenya/Tanzania Oryx service from 9 November 2025 into an enhanced Origami service that will call at Tokyo, Yokohama, Yokkaichi, Nagoya, Busan, Ningbo, Singapore, Colombo, Mombasa, Dar es Salam, Singapore, Kaohsiung, Busan, Tokyo. The enhanced Origami will turn in 1o weeks using 10 ships of 4,000 to 5,000 teu starting with the 4,294 teu MSC GENERAL IV at Tokyo on 9 November.
MSC will launch a new Cheetah service connecting Singapore, Colombo, Beira, Nacala, Singapore from November 2025. The service will turn 5 weeks using 5 ships of 2,500 teu starting with the 2,532 teu MSC SHEFFIELD III at Singapore on 3 November 2025.
