Containerships, the European short sea subsidiary of CMA CGM, has launched the Sweden Express 2 (SWX2) connecting Bremerhaven, Gavle, Gdansk, Gdynia, Klaipeda, Norrkoping, Rauma, Wilhelmshaven, Bremerhaven. The new service will turn in 2 weeks using 2 ships of 907 teu, LINDA and AILA, both previously were deployed in the Intra-Northern European routes. The service will start with LINDA at Bremerhaven on 27 October.
COSCO will join CMA CGM on the MedGulf Service that calls at Genoa, Valencia, Miami, Veracruz, Altamira, Houston, Tanger Med, Genoa. CMA CGM has suspended further sailings on the Golden Gate Bridge (GGB) service that called at Kaohsiung, Shekou, Shanghai, Busan, Seattle, Oakland Kaohsiung with the last sailing from Busan on 15 Sep 2022 with the 9,415 teu CMA CGM MEDEA. The GGB service has been running on an irregular basis since April with departures every 2 weeks due to severe congestion at Oakland and Seattle. CMA CGM is resuming the MEDGULF service that connects the West Mediterranean to the US Gulf and Mexico.
